The “Belong” in #BelongGrowSucceed applies to every student, including those with disabilities. That commitment was the focus of the Embracing Differences: This is Me conference at Severn Run High School. Educators and staff had the opportunity to hear from Jordyn Zimmerman, a passionate educator and disability advocate with autism, and participate in a variety of targeted breakout sessions. The event also featured Chesapeake High School graduate Adriana Dorsey, who shared heartfelt reflections on the individuals who supported her journey, as well as remarks from Superintendent of Schools Dr. Mark Bedell. #AACPSFamily #OurStory

School and district leaders from AACPS represented our community with pride at the IB Global Conference in New Orleans, leading engaging and informative sessions for an international audience of educators.
AACPS teams shared innovative strategies for instructional planning during times of change, offering tools and insights to help educators adapt and lead with purpose. They also highlighted the impact of College and Career Readiness programs, emphasizing how these are being used to promote access, opportunity, and real-world preparedness for every student.
This work reflects the power of collaboration and a shared commitment to student success. We thank our teams for inspiring peers across the globe and bringing valuable insights back to our AACPS community.

Even in the summer, we have to make preparations to help ensure the wheels on the bus go ‘round and ‘round safely. The Division of Specialized Instruction and Early Intervention Services and our amazing bus attendants recently spent time doing just that by reviewing safety protocols for students. #BelongGrowSucceed #AACPSFamily

When we say #AACPSFamily, we take it seriously. Members of the Central Middle School summer team showed their support today – Leiomyosarcoma Awareness Day – for family member and Assistant Principal Brittany Owens, who is one year cancer-free in her battle against the disease, which begins in smooth muscle tissue. Supporting Ms. Owens in this photo are Building Engineer Kathy Mackellar, Secretaries Sarah Robinson, Nancy Ryan and Geralyn Valente, and School Psychologist Mechelle Gunther. #BelongGrowSucceed
