EEE STEM is part of the College and Career Readiness Office in AACPS. For students, the Enhancing Elementary Excellence (EEE) STEM program feels very different from the traditional classroom experience many adults remember. STEM—Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics—comes to life as students work collaboratively in pairs or groups to solve problems, take risks, and learn from failure by trying again.

Students utilize the Engineering Design Process (EDP) to develop solutions to real-world problems. By aligning the program with the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS), students deepen their understanding of important science concepts while applying their learning in meaningful ways. The EEE STEM program encourages students to think creatively, collaborate, and become the inventors and innovators of tomorrow.

Students in EEE STEM often work in pairs or as a group to solve problems. EEE STEM prepares students to ask questions, imagine, plan, create, test, and improve their ideas. Providing students with hands-on projects engages them in the learning process.  

If you have an elementary student they automatically participate in the EEE STEM program one hour each week. You can expect them to become a well-rounded learner who identifies problems and works with resources available to solve them. Student prepare to solve the obstacles of tomorrow by being shown how to connect to their world using a variety of tools and skills. Students will grow into more independent thinkers and use their own set of unique skills and abilities to interact with their peers, teachers and tackle new problems and situations.
