Superintendent of Schools Dr. Mark Bedell took time yesterday to see the future of education up close when he visited students in the Center of Applied Technology South’s Teacher Academy of Maryland (TAM) class. Dr. Bedell spoke to students about his own experience as a student and educator and answered student questions about the Anne Arundel County Public Schools student experience and educational careers. TAM is a Career and Technology Education Career Institute designed by the Maryland State Department of Education to address Maryland’s persistent teacher shortage challenge by creating a pipeline of teacher candidates. It is offered to students at both Centers of Applied Technology. TAM is made up of four courses students may begin taking in the 10th grade.
