The Board of Education of Anne Arundel County will hold its next regular business meeting at noon on Wednesday, October 1, 2025. The meeting will be held in the Board Room of the Parham Building, located at 2644 Riva Road in Annapolis. It is open to the public and subject to normal space limitations in the Board Room.
The Board will also meet in a public session at 10:00 a.m. for the sole purpose of voting to immediately go into closed session, during which time it will discuss confidential matters as permitted by the Maryland Open Meetings Act including, but not limited to, legal advice, personnel, and negotiations. Closed session is not open to the public.

PROCESS FOR PUBLIC COMMENT ON AGENDA ITEMS
The Board will hear public comments from up to 10 total speakers (virtual and in-person combined) per agenda item (during a single public comment section in the early portion of the meeting. Additionally, up to 10 speakers can comment on non-agenda items towards the end of the meeting.
Procedures and protocols for public comment, including items for which the Board will not accept comment, can be found here. A link to register for public comment will be live at 3 p.m. on the Friday before the Board meeting.
The general session of the meeting will be broadcast live on AACPS-TV and on AACPS’ YouTube channel.
PUBLIC BRIEFING ON PHASE 2 REDISTRICTING PROPOSALS
Anne Arundel County Public Schools staff will conduct a public briefing on the four Phase 2 redistricting proposals the Board of Education has voted to move forward to public hearing at 6 p.m. on Monday, September 29, 2025, in the Board Room. At its meeting on September 17, 2025, the Board moved forward both recommendations provided by Superintendent of Schools Dr. Mark Bedell and two others that include Board member amendments. The briefing will be broadcast live on AACPS-TV and on AACPS’ YouTube channel. No public testimony will be taken at the briefing.
Public testimony on the proposals will be taken at public hearings scheduled by the Board for October 13, 2025, and October 27, 2025. Those hearings, which will also be broadcast live on AACPS-TV and on AACPS’ YouTube channel, will be held in the Board Room. Details about procedures to sign up and deliver testimony at the hearings will be forthcoming. Speakers may only testify at one hearing.
The Board is scheduled to adopt a redistricting plan in November. That plan will go into effect in August 2026.
