🌱 CSPES Greenhouse Project – Community Support Wanted! 🌱

We are excited to share that our CSPES greenhouse will be going up soon! We hope to begin planting around February 26 and will be hosting a plant sale in the spring.

We are looking for CSPES community members who may be interested in getting involved in this project—this opportunity is open to parents, caregivers, and grandparents. If you have a green thumb (or simply a love for gardening), we want you!

Community volunteers may assist with planting, maintaining the greenhouse, and preparing for our spring plant sale.

In addition, we will be launching a student greenhouse club, where students will have the opportunity to help with planting and caring for the greenhouse. More information about the club will be shared soon.

👉 If you are interested in supporting the CSPES Greenhouse Project, please complete this form:

The closing of schools on Tuesday, January 27, and Wednesday, January 28, utilizes the second and third of three inclement weather days built into the 2025-26 school year calendar. Under state law, AACPS may choose to move to virtual learning on future inclement weather days. No decisions have been made for school district operations beyond Wednesday, January 28. If additional days are needed and virtual learning is not utilized, those days would be added to the end of the calendar.

Valentine's Day Details: Since our school opened in 2023, we have made it a tradition to celebrate Valentine’s Day in a way that aligns with American Heart Month and promotes wellness and mindful choices with our PK-5 students. This year, we will once again observe a Heart-Healthy Valentine’s Day, focusing on kindness, friendship, and healthy habits rather than sugary treats.

Please note that while students may exchange non-food Valentine’s cards or small items, the exchange of candy or food items will NOT be permitted. Any candy brought to school will be returned home with your student. Please check out the flyer for our Amazon Wishlist, Sign Up Genius, and celebration details.

Sincerely,
CSPES Admin

Want to become a human claw machine? 🕹️ Come out and support the PTO at tonight’s event for a chance to win!

Don’t forget, TONIGHT is our Dave & Buster’s Spirit Night from 430-730pm! Join us for a fun evening supporting our school. And best of all, DOUBLE THE FUN with 1/2 price games and no school tomorrow! Dave & Buster’s has donated their party room so CSPES families can enjoy meals together and the PTO (in partnership with D&B) will be raffling off prizes for CSPES students in attendance. Students must be in the party room at 6 PM to be eligible to win.

By participating, you’re also helping our school. CSPES gets 20% of all food and game purchases made tonight. Be sure to purchase power cards directly from your server or at the winners circle in person and not use a kiosk.
