🔔Lost and Found Update:
⏰ ALL current lost & found items are pictured here. Beginning today and through May 16th, families may collect lost and found items between 3:00 - 6:00 PM. Please LEAVE the hangers.
🚫 Parents may NOT get out of their cars during arrival and dismissal to look through the lost and found.
👕 All items that had names on them have been returned to the students they belong to. Please do not call or request for an item you see pictured to be retrieved for you. We simply don’t have the man power to do that.
♻️ After May 16 at 6:00 pm, clothing will be donated as we do not have storage capacity in our building.
🙏🏼 Thank you to sixth grader, Addison M., who helped me organize for nearly 2 hours this afternoon. As you are going through bins, please keep them neat and organized!
✨Hoping each of these items finds their way home!

Dear CSPES Families,
Thank you to everyone who took the time to share your thoughts and reflections through the Chesapeake Lighthouse Foundation (CLF) survey. Your feedback helps us celebrate our successes and, more importantly, guides us in identifying areas where we can continue to grow as a school community.
We are proud to hear that many of you recognize the dedication of our caring and attentive staff, as well as the strides we have made in improving communication. It is also wonderful to know that our emphasis on academic rigor and tools like IXL and i-Ready has been positively received by many. These affirmations energize and inspire our team as we plan for the upcoming school year.
At the same time, your suggestions for growth are invaluable. You shared that you would like to see:
✅ More clubs and extracurricular opportunities to engage students beyond the classroom
✅ Expanded growth activities to further challenge and excite learners
✅ Continued work on improving communication and consistency
✅ Continued attention to fostering positive student behavior and interactions
It is important to recognize that feedback often reflects the diverse experiences and perspectives of our families. Interestingly, many of the areas identified for improvement by some were also celebrated as strengths by others — a reminder that school experiences can feel very different from one family to the next. This highlights the importance of ongoing dialogue and continuous reflection as we strive to meet the needs of all students and families.
While we are committed to enhancing the student experience at CSPES, please note that Enrichment programming is not managed by CSPES.
Additionally, we want to remind families that increasing the number of clubs and extracurricular activities often depends on available funding. We are actively exploring ways to expand offerings, and your support through donations, volunteering, and advocacy makes a tremendous difference as we work toward making more activities possible for our students.
Regarding student behavior, please know that all discipline matters are addressed in accordance with the Anne Arundel County Public Schools (AACPS) Code of Conduct. We follow these guidelines carefully to ensure fairness, consistency, and alignment with district expectations when responding to behavior concerns.
Finally, please know that if you would ever like to discuss your feedback or individual concerns in more detail, I welcome the opportunity to meet with you. You are always welcome to email me directly at tcamacho@mycsp.org to schedule a time to talk.
Thank you for your ongoing support and trust in our team.
With gratitude,
Tabatha Camacho, Principal
