Hello CSPES Families, We have been receiving many questions about uniforms as we approach the end of the school year. Students are expected to remain in uniform through the end of the school year, with two exceptions: Field Day on June 12 (PK-5 only) and the last day of school on June 16. Why do we continue to require uniforms? Simply put, we are still in school, and instruction is still taking place. At CSPES, we believe our students deserve a consistent learning environment from the first day of school to the last. For us, maintaining that consistency includes continuing our uniform expectations. Thank you for your support as we finish the year strong and remain focused on learning all the way through the final day of school. Dr. Tabatha Camacho Principal, CSPES

Hello CSPES Families,

Since opening our doors, we have hosted a CLF Appreciation Day each year to recognize the Chesapeake Lighthouse Foundation team for their support of our school. In the past, we have always handled this event internally. However, after last year's celebration, several parents asked if there was a way for families to get involved.

With that in mind, I wanted to share this opportunity with you—absolutely with no pressure or expectation. If you would like to contribute toward this year's appreciation event, you may send in cash or an Amazon gift card no later than Monday, June 8.

As many of you know, CLF has had a challenging year, spending much of it advocating and fighting to ensure that our schools continue to receive the funding needed to serve our students. Their dedication to our children and school community has not gone unnoticed, and this is one small way we can show our appreciation.

Thank you, as always, for your continued support of CSPES.

Dear CSPES Families,

The end of the school year is quickly approaching, and we are excited to invite you to one of our favorite traditions—the 3rd Annual CSPES STEM Festival!

On Wednesday, June 3, 2026, from 5:00–7:00 PM, our school will transform into a celebration of learning, innovation, culture, and community. Families will have the opportunity to explore student STEM projects, enjoy hands-on activities, watch student performances, and celebrate all that our Tigers have accomplished this year.

In addition to our STEM exhibits, we are excited to once again host A Taste of CSPES: International Food Festival. This event showcases the diversity of our school community through food and desserts representing cultures from around the world. From halal entrées to homemade desserts, there will be something for everyone to enjoy.

Please take a look at the attached flyers for event details, menu offerings, and pricing. A few important reminders:

Dear CSPES Families,

Our End-of-Year STEM Festival is right around the corner! As many of you know, each year we sell food during the festival as a fundraiser for our school community. Thanks to your support in previous years, these funds have helped us support families, provide additional resources for classrooms, celebrate our students, and continue enhancing the overall CSPES experience.

This year, while we will continue offering some of our traditional favorites such as gyros, jerk chicken, hot dogs, and more, we would love to expand our menu to better represent the rich diversity of our CSPES community.

We are looking for families who may be interested in donating food items for us to sell during the event. Whether you make a delicious dessert, have a favorite family recipe, or would be willing to prepare a tray of traditional food from your culture, we would love to showcase it and celebrate the many cultures that make our school so special.

If you are interested in supporting this initiative, please email me at tcamacho@mycsp.org.

Thank you for helping us continue building a strong and connected school community!

Warmly,

Dear CSPES Families,

As we prepare for our final Student of the Month celebration of the school year, I wanted to take a moment to share a gentle reminder about the purpose of this recognition.

Student of the Month is intended to celebrate students who have demonstrated specific qualities and characteristics during that month. Classroom teachers thoughtfully make these selections based on their observations, classroom experiences, and professional judgment.

With hundreds of amazing students at Chesapeake Science Point Elementary, it is mathematically impossible for every child to receive every recognition — and that is okay. Awards are just one small way to celebrate students, but they do not define a child’s value, potential, intelligence, or future success.

At CSPES, we believe every child has unique strengths and talents. Some students may be recognized publicly through Student of the Month, while others shine in ways that may not come with a certificate or announcement. Growth, kindness, perseverance, leadership, and effort matter deeply, even when they are not tied to a formal award.

We kindly ask families to respect teacher decisions regarding Student of the Month selections. Our teachers put a great deal of thought and care into these choices, and we are grateful for the trust and partnership of our school community.

Thank you, as always, for your continued support.

Warmly,
Dr. Tabatha Camacho

Greetings families!

Today starts registration for our Pre-K program. Due to some technical issues with AACPS Chesapeake Science Point Elementary School (CSPES) is NOT listed on the application. Please fill out the application form and use your boundary school as your school of choice. Once the registration is COMPLETE please call the school office and we can add your student to a list. This list will be sent to the Early Childhood Department of AACPS and your student will then be placed on CSPES list of POTENTIAL students for Pre-k. The only information the main office needs is your students first and last name.
