Now that testing is wrapping up, parents are invited to sign up for an in-person opportunity to meet with Dr. Camacho to review your child’s data.
During these meetings, we will:

The Board of Education last night considered the Superintendent’s recommendation of two proposed redistricting plans for Phase 2 of the school system’s comprehensive redistricting process, then voted to move both of the Superintendent’s proposals forward to public hearing along with two additional proposals that include Board member amendments.

Three county schools have landed in the national spotlight with honors from Special Olympics North America for the ways in which they cultivate climates of kindness and acceptance by providing inclusive sports and programs for students with and without intellectual disabilities.
Old Mill Middle School South, Arundel High School and Glen Burnie High School have been named Special Olympics Unified Champion National Banner schools, adding to Anne Arundel County Public Schools’ (AACPS) stellar legacy dating back to 2010 with Special Olympics Maryland. Of the 19 schools in Maryland with the distinction, 12 are in AACPS. Old Mill Middle School South is the first middle school in Maryland to earn the award.

📊 IXL Weekly Update 📊
This week our Tigers put in amazing work on IXL! Together, they practiced 5,583 skills, became proficient in 3,943 skills, and mastered 3,641 skills. That’s over 807 total hours of learning! 🙌
Here’s the grade-level breakdown:
Kindergarten – 96 students, 11 hours, building strong foundations early 🐯
1st Grade – 96 students, 76 hours of learning
2nd Grade – 96 students, 139 hours and big gains in proficiency
3rd Grade – 97 students, a phenomenal 337 hours with the highest skills growth in the school! 🌟
4th Grade – 52 students, 73 hours of focused practice
5th Grade – 50 students, 134 hours and strong progress
6th Grade – 100 students, 35 hours of steady effort
🌟 A special shoutout to 3rd grade for leading the way with outstanding effort and achievement!
🎉 As a reward, all 3rd graders will enjoy the very first Dress Down Day of the school year on September 15th! You’ve earned it, Tigers! 🐾💙🧡
