Three county secondary school administrators – two at the middle school level and one at the high school level – are among those who have been named Leadership Champions by the Maryland Association of Secondary School Principals.
The awards recognize secondary school leaders from across the state for exemplary leadership in specific areas of school administration. Recipients selected through a peer-review process aligned with the Professional Standards for Educational Leaders.
The following county leaders are among the 10 2026 honorees:
Linda Chandler, principal at Old Mill Middle School South, Excellence in Equity and Inclusion category.
Jasmine Coleman, assistant principal at Glen Burnie High School, Excellence in Equity and Inclusion category.
Marjorie Vilson, assistant principal at Corkran Middle School, Champion for Inspirational Leadership category.
“MASSP is honored to recognize our amazing school-based leaders as champions for students, staff, and community success,” MASSP Executive Director Chris Truffer said. “They exemplify the great things happening in our schools each and every day.”
Chandler has worked in Anne Arundel County Public Schools since 2005 and has been principal at Old Mill Middle School South since 2020. Coleman is in her third year at Glen Burnie High School and 17th year in AACPS. Vilson served as assistant principal at Lindale Middle School for two years before moving to Corkran Middle School this year. She began her career with AACPS in 2022.
Honorees will be recognized at MASSP’s annual conference in November.
