Lindale Middle School has become the second county middle school to earn national recognition for its STEM program. The school has been recertified by Magnet Schools of America and has been designated as a National Demonstration School.

The prestigious designation recognizes schools that demonstrate excellence in magnet education through innovation, equity, diversity, academic achievement, and community engagement. The certification reflects the outstanding efforts and commitment of our staff, students, families, and community partners.

“I am honored and deeply appreciative of the dedication and exceptional work of our district's STEM Department, our STEM Site Director, teachers, students and parents,” Lindale Principal Rodney Walker said. “Achieving Nationally Certified-Demonstration status is a significant accomplishment and a tremendous honor for our school and the entire Lindale community.”

Along with the local and national accomplishments of our robotics program, Lindale Middle School is preparing students for careers in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math. 

MSA’s certification process is based on the five pillars of magnet schools – diversity, innovative curriculum and professional development, academic excellence, high-quality instructional systems, and family and community partnerships – the National Magnet School Standards of Excellence. These standards define the essential elements and characteristics of high-quality magnet programs.  

Lindale is one of three STEM magnet middle schools in Anne Arundel County Public Schools. Central Middle School has also been named a Nationally Certified STEM Demonstration School this year. Old Mill Middle School South currently holds MSA National Certification and will seek recertification in 2027.
