Thirty Anne Arundel County Public Schools secondary students won their respective categories, 17 more finished second, and 15 others placed third at the recent SkillsUSA Maryland Leadership and Skills Conference. The student winners represent both centers of applied technology as well as all 14 AACPS comprehensive high schools.
More than 1,250 students from across Maryland participated in 70 different competitions over the two-day event. These contests focus on leadership skills, occupational-related skills, and trade skills.
In addition to the individual and team medalists, the Baking & Pastry chapter at CAT North earned a Gold Chapter Award of Excellence and was named a National Model of Excellence. Severna Park High School earned a silver award in the Chapter of Excellence category.
