The Board of Education today approved an agreement with the Secretaries and Assistants Association of Anne Arundel County (SAAAAC) for the coming fiscal year that provides, subject to county funding, a step increase for eligible Unit IV employees and a 3 percent cost-of-living adjustment for all Unit IV employees.

The agreement also contains language that allows Unit IV employees to take part in Anne Arundel County Public Schools’ four-day summer work week from June 24,2026, through August 4, 2026. During this period, AACPS operates on a four-day week, with employees required to complete their weekly contractual work hours in four days. Employees who choose not to work the extended schedule use annual leave for each Friday.

SAAAAC is the first of AACPS’ four employee bargaining units to reach an agreement with the Board of Education on a contract for Fiscal Year 2027, which begins on July 1, 2026. Negotiations are ongoing with the other three bargaining units.
