One hundred fifty-seven Anne Arundel County Public Schools educators achieved prestigious National Board Certification (NBCT) for the first time and 10 others successfully maintained their certifications, making AACPS’ 2025-26 class of NBCT educators one of the school system’s largest ever.
AACPS now boasts a total of 693 educators who have earned NBCT status. National Board Certified teachers are highly sought after in the Blueprint for Maryland’s Future and can earn as much as an additional $17,000 in compensation depending on their work assignment.
In a process that can take up to five years, Anne Arundel’s latest class successfully completed rigorous assessments with the assistance of a professional development program offered by the school system. More than 450 AACPS educators are currently seeking to earn NBCT status.
