Anne Arundel County Public Schools (AACPS) has been awarded four national communications awards from the National School Public Relations Association (NSPRA) for its efforts to provide information about the school district to a variety of audiences.
The awards “exemplify the impactful, innovative work shaping the future of school communication,” NSPRA said in its announcement.
AACPS won an Award of Excellence for the “Join Our Team” recruitment video that features Superintendent of Schools Dr. Mark Bedell and plays in local theaters prior to the start of movies. Produced by Television Broadcast Manager Erik Cloyd and Video Production Specialists Jon Francis, Taylor Thomas and Wendell Holland, the video can be seen here.
AACPS also won Awards of Merit for:
· The “Belong, Grow, Succeed” logo developed by Senior Design Specialist Jennifer Houck which became the signature piece of the school system’s Strategic Plan and is featured in a variety of mediums throughout the school district.
· The “Thursday Thoughts” video series featuring Dr. Bedell that is published online each week. The series is produced by Cloyd, Francis, Thomas and Holland.
· A video capturing images and voices of students and staff over the course of the first day of school this year. The video, which can be seen here, was produced by Cloyd and Francis.
“We are really fortunate to have amazingly talented professionals working on our communications efforts, and our design and video teams are second to none,” Dr. Bedell said. “I am very happy that their work has been recognized at the national level because they contribute so much to our work.”
