5:30 p.m., 12/14/25: To allow for safer walking and driving conditions tomorrow morning, particularly in neighborhoods and on side streets, all AACPS schools will open two hours late on Monday, December 15. There will be no morning half-day ECSE classes, no morning sessions at the Centers of Applied Technology North or South and no transportation to NJROTC programs.
Winter weather is upon is and the easiest and fastest way to stay on top of school schedule changes is to download the AACPS app! App notifications are in the first set of messages sent out when weather decisions are made.
The app is free and accessible to anyone (not just families of students). Be sure to follow the school or schools in which you are interested as well!

10:00 a.m., 12/14/25: In order to allow facilities and operations crews to clear school lots and walkways in preparation for classes tomorrow, all Anne Arundel County Public Schools facilities will be closed for all groups and activities today, December 14. At this time, all schools will operate on normal schedules on Monday, December 15.
We are excited to share some wonderful news! A generous local company Poole and Kent has donated a brand-new bike rack to Woodside Elementary. This addition will help support our students who bike to school and make our campus even more welcoming and accessible.

I wanted to share that we are planning a few special treats for our wonderful teachers next week. Let’s sprinkle a little festive cheer as we wrap up 2025!
We’re hoping to put together:
A snack cart on Tuesday with sweet and salty treats
Donuts on Wednesday to brighten their morning
If any families would like to donate items for these days — or anything special for our teachers on any other day next week — please feel free to drop donations off in the office with me (Ms. Paris).

The Board will also hold a public workshop to discuss information related to the recently released Maryland Report Card results at 6 p.m. on Monday, December 15, 2025, in the Board Room. Spirit Week was in full swing this week. Woody was dressed sharply in a little tuxedo and joined the kids during lunch, making the day feel extra festive. The whole group looks excited as they line up together, and the decorated tables and fall colors add a warm Thanksgiving vibe. Serving a special treat before the holiday made the moment even more memorable! Such a fun way to bring everyone together and celebrate!

We are excited to share that our annual Holiday Shop will be open December 1–5, 2025! Students will have the opportunity to shop for family and friends during school hours. This is a fun and affordable way for them to experience the joy of giving, with most items priced between $1 and $7.
Your child’s specific shopping day will be listed on the flyer and on the PTA facebook page. If you would like your student to shop for particular people, please send their shopping list along with their spending money on their scheduled day.
