    On-time Magnet applications for the 2022-2023 school year opened at noon on October 11, 2021 and closed at noon on November 22, 2021. (Applications submitted after 12 PM on Monday, November 22, 2021 are considered late and do not enter lottery; STEM MS and STEM HS do not accept late applications.) Please consult the Magnet application timeline on the left-hand sidebar for specific dates for notification of eligibility and lottery.

    For students who will be in grades 5 and 8 in fall, 2022, applications will open at noon on Monday, October 10, 2022 and will close at noon on Monday, November 21, 2022.

    To apply, current AACPS students should use their lunch ID as their application username and password, which are also used to access the computers at school and Google classes.  Non-AACPS students will create a username and password when beginning the online application.  The Magnet Office cannot reset passwords.  Contact the Help Desk at 410-222-5135 for password resets.

  • Who Can Apply to a Magnet?

    Magnet Programs are available only to students who have at least 1 legal guardian residing in Anne Arundel County.  Verification of residency is required.

    IB Middle School:  Current Grade 5 and 6 students can apply
    PVA Middle School:  Current Grade 5 and 6 students can apply
    STEM Middle School:  Current Grade 5 students can apply
    IB High School:  Current Grade 8 and 10 students can apply
    PVA High School:  Current Grade 8 and 9 students can apply
    STEM/BMAH High School:  Current Grade 8 students can apply
