The Board of Education today announced logistics for two public hearings – to be held on October 13 and 27, 2025 – at which members of the public can testify about the four Phase 2 redistricting proposals currently under consideration. Public Hearing on Monday, October 13, 2025
· A link to register to speak at the Board’s first public hearing, scheduled for 6 p.m. in the Board Room at the Parham Building, will be made available at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, at www.aacps.org/boardcomment.
· Those wishing to testify may do so in person or virtually and must indicate their choice when registering. Speakers will be limited to two minutes and must address one or more of the four plans under consideration. Testimony on topics other than the four plans will not be permitted.
· Speaker registration and the written public comment period for this hearing will close at noon on Saturday, October 11, 2025.
Public Hearing on Monday, October 27, 2025
· A link to register to speak at the Board’s second public hearing, scheduled for 6 p.m. in the Board Room at the Parham Building, will be made available at 3 p.m. on Tuesday October 21, 2025, at www.aacps.org/boardcomment.
· Those wishing to testify may do so in person or virtually and must indicate their choice when registering. Speakers will be limited to two minutes and must address one or more of the four plans under consideration. Testimony on topics other than the four plans will not be permitted.
· Speaker registration and the written public comment period for this hearing will close at noon on Saturday, October 25, 2025.
Speakers may not sign up for anyone other than themselves and may only testify at one of the Board’s two public hearings.
The Board is scheduled to adopt a redistricting plan in November that will go into effect in August 2026. It may choose to explore other plans and is not limited to the four plans currently under consideration.
Both hearings will be broadcast live on AACPS-TV and on AACPS’ YouTube channel.
The Parham Building is located at 2644 Riva Road in Annapolis. Hearings are open to the public and subject to normal space limitations in the Board Room. Those who have signed up to speak will be given seating preference.
