Hey families! Just a friendly heads-up that today is Chromebook Day at the library! 💻📚

📅 When: Wednesdays in July
Time: 12 PM to 4 PM
🍎 What’s Happening:
- 12–2 PM: I-Ready time
- 2–3 PM: Fun library events
- 3–4 PM: More I-Ready fun
🍪 Snacks provided by Community Schools!

Chromebook Days count toward your child’s 2 required math days for Option 3 of the Summer Jam. If your child is doing Option 1, they are also welcome. Let’s keep the learning going and earn that September Incentive!🎪🎟️

Hey families! Here’s what’s happening and how your child can stay on track to earn a ticket to the **September Incentive! 🎪✨

📅 TODAY – July 1st:

📖 Option 2 Students:
Meet me at Park Elementary School between 3–4 PM to grab a book from the vending machine and get ready to write your summary! 📝📚

🌈 Option 3 Students:
Join me at Brooklyn Park Library at 4 PM for the Eco Adventures: Wild World of Color Show! 🎨🦎

💻 TOMORROW – July 2nd: Chromebook Day!

All students completing Option 1 or 3 should meet me at the Brooklyn Park Library from 12–4 PM to work on math skills using Chromebooks! 🧠🔢
🍎 Snacks provided!

📌 Reminder: 3 Ways to Complete the Summer Jam

✅ Option 1:
Complete 15 ELA I-Ready and 15 Math I-Ready lessons online. 💻📖➕

✅ Option 2:
📚 Read 5 books and write 5 summaries
➕ Practice math facts by grade level:
Pre-K & K Count to 100, add sums up to 10
1st Grade: Addition facts (0–9)
2nd Grade: Addition & subtraction (0–9)
3rd Grade: Multiplication facts up to ×9
4th Grade: Multiplication & division facts up to 81 ÷ 9

✅ Option 3:
Attend 2 reading days and 2 math (Chromebook) days at the Brooklyn Park Library.
📅 Chromebook days are Wednesdays from 12–4 PM

Camp and activity organizers will notify participants about cancellations. Movement of camps and activities indoors will be done where feasible given other activities at those sites. AACPS meal sites will operate as normal. For information about camps and activities scheduled by other agencies, please check with those agencies. As a reminder, all AACPS schools and offices are closed on Friday, June 27.

🎉 ABC & 123 Summer Jam Challenge is Here! 🎉 For all current PreK to 4th grade students Dear Families, We’re excited to kick off our ABC & 123 Summer Jam Challenge- a fun and rewarding way to keep students learning all summer long! 🌞📚✏️ Students have three exciting options to complete the challenge and earn a chance to attend a special carnival in September! 🎪🎈 🌟 Challenge Options: Option 1: ✅ Complete and PASS 15 Reading and 15 Math I-Ready lessons Option 2: 📖 Read 5 books and write 5 summaries (1 summary for each book) ➕ Pass a math facts test when school resumes (Great news! Every student picked a free book today from the book fair—this can count as one of the five!*) Option 3: 🏛️ Attend 2 literacy and 2 math events at the local library with Ms. Batteast (Every student was given a summer Jam brochure with the events you can choose from. Also the brochure is attached) 📚 More Summer Fun! 🎁 Community Schools will host another Scholastic Book Fair on July 1st and 7th—students can pick another free book! 📖 Don’t forget to sign up for the Summer Reading Program at the library! They’re giving away amazing prizes like: - 🍦 Frosty’ s - 🎮 Nintendo Switch - ⚾ Orioles Tickets - ✈️ Plane Tickets! Let’s keep the learning going!
