Our 38th annual Harvest for the Hungry: Kids Helping Kids has begun! Our students find a sense of belonging as they bring in food and encourage donations to the Anne Arundel County Food Bank, learning to give and help others in our community. This week in second grade was so much fun! In knowledge we studied the effects of rivers flooding and even created our own silt to learn about its impact on rivers! In math, we studied number patterns while skip counting using our hundreds chart, in skills we reviewed our tricky words with a new game based on our reader, and in science we were engineers and leaders when we worked together to build the tallest towers!
