Redistricting Process - Phase 2

The Board of Education has given final approval to a Phase 2 redistricting plan that will see approximately 750 students shift schools, bringing to a close a process that began in  February 2025.

At its November 19, 2025, meeting the Board adopted Revised Board Recommendation 3 (Revised BR-3) which it created on November 5 and held public hearings about on Nov. 13 and 17. It will go into effect in the 2026-2027 school year.

The plan focuses on boundaries for schools in the Annapolis, Arundel, Broadneck, Crofton, Severna Park, South River, and Southern clusters. A document with complete details about student movement can be found here. A chart with student movement can be found on Page 12 of the document.

The plan contains a legacy provision that mirrors that adopted in Phase 1 and allows only those students entering 12th grade in the 2026-27 school year the option to remain at the high school to which they are currently assigned. A portal for students to exercise their option under the legacy provision will open in December 2025 and close in January 2026.

Legacy students would be responsible for their own transportation. Students enrolled in magnet programs would continue to be enrolled in their current school assigned program and would be eligible for transportation.
