Our Library Media Team helps us #BelongGrowSucceed:
Ms. Grey-Hawkins sets the positive tone for each school day as our adviser for morning announcements. She has trained our 4th and 5th graders to write, read, and record the daily broadcast that includes birthdays, positive referrals, and information we all need, such as what’s for lunch, the weather, and band/strings schedules. Ms. Grey-Hawkins uses her expertise as the e-Coach to teach students how to broadcast in front of and behind the camera!

Happy National Assistant Principals Week!

On April 3, Ferndale Early Education Center held an exciting school-wide Reading Party centered around the beloved character Pete the Cat. Students spent the day immersed in literacy fun, visiting five different stations where they participated in engaging activities inspired by Pete the Cat books.
A highlight of the day was a special visit from Pete the Cat himself! The students were thrilled to meet the life-sized character, with many excitedly exclaiming, “I love you, Pete!” His presence truly brought the stories to life and left a lasting impression on the young readers.
Guest readers from across the county joined the celebration, sharing Pete the Cat stories with classrooms throughout the school. As students moved from room to room, they filled goodie bags with party favors, making the event feel even more festive. They ended the day with a dance party with Pete.
This memorable day helped ignite a love of reading in our students—and thanks to Pete the Cat, it was all groovy! Thank you to the Community Foundation of Anne Arundel County for making this event possible!

Ferndale Early Ed Center hosted a Math Family Game Night on April 1st. Families played games to reinforce early math skills! Each family got to take home a bag of games. We even had a surprise guest, Pete the Cat!
