Two Rivers Elementary School and Severn Run High School have achieved LEED Silver Certifications from the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC). Both buildings, which opened in August 2024, are now formally recognized for their sustainability efforts.
LEED certification provides a structured approach to creating healthy, efficient, carbon- and cost-saving green buildings supported by organizations and individuals promoting market transformation. To attain LEED certification, projects must earn points by meeting prerequisites and credits that address various factors such as carbon, energy, water, waste, transportation, materials, health, and indoor environmental quality.
