10:00 a.m., 12/14/25: In order to allow facilities and operations crews to clear school lots and walkways in preparation for classes tomorrow, all Anne Arundel County Public Schools facilities will be closed for all groups and activities today, December 14. At this time, all schools will operate on normal schedules on Monday, December 15.
Superintendent of Schools Dr. Mark Bedell will present his recommended Fiscal Year 2027 operating and capital budgets at the next meeting of the Board of Education of Anne Arundel County, scheduled for Wednesday, December 17, 2025.
The Board will also hold a public workshop to discuss information related to the recently released Maryland Report Card results at 6 p.m. on Monday, December 15, 2025, in the Board Room. The Maryland Report Card provides schools across the state with star ratings calculated from a variety of academic, attendance, and curriculum factors.

This week at Nantucket we are conducting an emergency drill to practice how to respond in an emergency situation. As always, the goal of the drill is to provide staff and students with practice responding in an emergency situation so that we can work together to keep everyone safe. You can support your child to prepare for this drill by reminding them to take the exercise seriously and to follow the directions of the teachers and staff. 5:15 a.m., 12/5/25: Due to inclement weather and anticipated hazardous road conditions in parts of the county, all Anne Arundel County Public Schools will open two hours late today. There will be no morning half-day ECSE classes, and no morning sessions at the Centers of Applied Technology North or South. A reassessment of conditions will take place this morning and any changes to this status will be announced by 7:30 a.m. today.

3 p.m., 11/13/25: I-97 southbound is closed at New Cut Road due to an accident. This will cause significant delays in bus transportation for some students being transported home from schools today. All buses will make all stops, but may be delayed in getting to those stops.
