Centers of Applied Technology
In addition to the Magnet Programs, AACPS also offers Career and Technical Education completer programs at both Centers of Applied Technology—CAT North and CAT South. Students in these programs take classes in their home high school and are transported to the CAT center for specialized courses set in a hands-on and rigorous instructional setting. IB Magnet students may be able to take courses at a CAT center during their 9th grade year, pending room in the schedule. During grades 10–12, IB Magnet students who wish to pursue a CTE completer program at a CAT Center must consult with their school counselor and Magnet program lead.
