Thursday Thoughts with Dr. Bedell - March 26, 2026
In partnership with the STEM magnet program, we have an opportunity on March 27th from 9:30 am - 11:45am to view the movie, Cookie Queens, as the movie that will launch the Annapolis Film Festival this year. It will take place in the Maryland Hall large auditorium on the big screen. Address: 801 Chase Street, Annapolis, MD 21401.

Annually, the first movie of the festival is designed to offer several hundred of our AACPS students the opportunity to see an award-winning movie and discuss it afterwards with one of the professionals involved in its production. This year the movie is Cookie Queens, a documentary about the girls, their families and the entrepreneurial spirt at the center of the annual selling of Girl Scout cookies. After the movie, one of the New York producers will be available to discuss the movie and its production with the students who attend.

Because Friday, March 27th is a non-school day for students, we are able to invite students to attend with a parent or guardian. The movie is free for both the student and parent. Everyone attending must provide their own transportation. There is plenty of parking available at the Maryland Hall (lot and street parking). We do need them to sign up, so we know who plans to attend. Here is the Movie Sign-Up Link for students to register (with a parent).

Everyone must fill out the google form from the link above to attend; there is no cost.

Date of the Movie: Friday, March 27, 2026
Location: Maryland Hall Auditorium
Address: 801 Chase St, Annapolis, MD 21401
Start Time: Please be in the auditorium no later than 9:25 AM
End Time: 11:45 AM
Cost: Free to student and their parent/guardian
Requirement: Each student needs to be accompanied by a parent or guardian. No students will be admitted who do not come with their parent/guardian chaperone.
You must sign up to attend.
