3:00 p.m., 2/3/26: Barring any additional inclement weather overnight that would impact school operations, all Anne Arundel County Public Schools and offices will open on time and will operate on normal schedules for students and staff on Wednesday, February 4.
There will still be areas of the county where adverse road and sidewalk conditions exist tomorrow morning, so families and employees are urged to continue to exercise caution and patience, including as it relates to decisions about student drivers. Families of students who normally walk to school should once again closely examine walking routes and, if prudent and possible, consider transporting their students to and from school.
Thank you.

Superintendent of Schools Dr. Mark Bedell delivers a message to families, students and staff about the reopening of schools today and also thanks all those who continue to exercise grace and patience. More than 90 percent of students attended classes in person today, and our AACPS team is continuing to work along with County and City of Annapolis crews to make things better as the week progresses. #BelongGrowSucceed #AACPSFamily

I apologize as I was misinformed. The sidewalk to the pool parking lot has NOT been shoveled and is very icy. It is recommended that students avoid this route.

4:00 p.m., 1/31/26: Out of an abundance of caution and in order to allow additional time for student and staff travel, all Anne Arundel County Public Schools will open two hours late on Monday, Feb. 2, and Tuesday, Feb. 3. There will be no morning half-day ECSE sessions, no morning sessions at the Centers of Applied Technology, and no transportation to JROTC programs.
Families of students who normally walk to school should closely examine walking routes prior to Monday and strongly consider transporting their students to and from school. Some adverse road and sidewalk conditions will also still exist on Monday and Tuesday, so families and staff are urged to exercise caution and patience, including as it relates to decisions about student drivers.

4:35 p.m., 1/30/26: Anne Arundel County Public Schools-sponsored activities for Saturday, January 31, will continue as scheduled. For the status of activities sponsored by agencies other than Anne Arundel County Public Schools on January 31 or February 1, please check with those agencies.
Those traveling to school sites for activities on Saturday should allow extra time for travel and exercise caution as they walk to and from buildings. Crews will be continuing to work on school sites throughout the day Saturday.
No decisions have been made about the status of school district operations for Monday, February 2.
Thank you.

12:15 p,.m, 1/28/26: Due to continuing adverse weather and travel conditions, including ongoing work at school sites, impassable side streets and inaccessible bus stops in some areas, all AACPS schools will operate virtually on Thursday, January 29, and Friday, January 30. Students will engage in real-time virtual instruction with their teachers. Schools will begin instruction at 9 or 9:15 a.m., as listed on schedules that can be found at www.aacps.org/studentschedules or www.aacps.org/stayconnected.
With the exception of Unit III Facilities, Operations, and Maintenance personnel, AACPS employees will work remotely on January 29 and 30. Unit III Facilities, Operations, and Maintenance personnel must follow the terms of their negotiated agreement and report to work locations as required. Additional guidance regarding reporting requirements will be communicated to impacted employees.
No decisions have been made about school district activities for Saturday, January 31.
Thank you.
