We will be hosting our 2nd Annual Community Health & Resource Fair on Friday June 5th, right after Tiger Run! We will be giving away clothes, hygiene kits, cleaning supplies, and fresh fruit and vegetables while supplies last. We will also have partners who will share resources with you. Hope to see you there!

Please join us on Wednesday, May 20th for PAC and Popcorn Night featuring the Scholastic Book Fair. The Book Fair will be open from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Our Parent Advisory will have families connect with other parents, collaborate on how to support your child’s growth, and provide input on school decisions prior to the start of our Movie Night at 5:45 p.m. Enjoy the movie Migration, popcorn will be provided. Feel free to bring your own blankets, yoga mats or chairs.

The Board of Education today approved an agreement with the Secretaries and Assistants Association of Anne Arundel County (SAAAAC) for the coming fiscal year that provides, subject to county funding, a step increase for eligible Unit IV employees and a 3 percent cost-of-living adjustment for all Unit IV employees.

Mon (5/11): Bring a picture/drawing of your culture to create a cultural collage
Tues (5/12): Bring a cultural item for show & tell
Wed (5/13): Wear or bring your country’s flag/colors
Thurs (5/14): Wear cultural clothing and/or join us at 5:00 PM for our multicultural & art night
We can’t wait to celebrate our school’s diversity with you!

Joe Bigsby, a STEM teacher at Magothy River Middle School, tonight was named the 2026 Anne Arundel County Public Schools Teacher of the Year. The announcement came before a crowd of more than 700 people at the culmination of the 40th annual Excellence in Education Awards held at the Live! Event Center at Arundel Mills.
Bigsby has taught Anne Arundel County Public Schools students since 2018 and has spent the entirety of that time at Magothy River Middle School. During that time, he has built a reputation as a dynamic educator with a passion for student connection and innovation.
