Due to extremely high temperatures and heat indices forecast for Tuesday, June 24, all AACPS-sponsored camps and activities will be held indoors or canceled. Camp and activity organizers will notify participants about cancellations. Movement of camps and activities indoors will be done where feasible given other activities at those sites. AACPS meal sites will operate as normal. For information about camps and activities scheduled by other agencies, please check with those agencies.

The CMS Wellness Committee does a great job of making sure that even the adults are taken care of and have a little fun. We had an "Undercover Spirit Week"! It consisted of: Melting Monday in "I'm barely holding to together" fashion, SPF Tuesday, Grill Master Wednesday, Camp Counselor Thursday, and Flamingo Friday! (Tell me you work in education without telling me you work in education.)

In light of the Code Orange air quality alert issued today, June 12, by the Maryland Department of the Environment and out of an abundance of caution for the wellbeing of students and staff, all outdoor activities planned at schools will be moved indoors or canceled. This afternoon all of our 8th graders had the opportunity to participate in a walking field trip where they were able to "Fly Up" to Crofton High. The students were able to hear the chorus and the Crofton Cardinal Marching Band and they were able to see the Dance Team. Students learned about clubs, athletics, and other opportunities they'll have as future Cardinals. Thank you, CrHS!
