Our Vision

The Right Start New Teacher Support Program will empower new teachers to advance student learning and inspire them to make teaching a lifelong passion.

Our Mission

The mission of the AACPS Right Start New Teacher Support Program is to develop and retain highly effective teachers by providing:

  • Instructional Coaching

  • Differentiated Professional Development Opportunities

Components of the Right Start Program include New Teacher Orientation, professional learning opportunities, and individualized professional development and support from a Right Start Advisor (RSA). 

New Teacher Orientation

New Teacher Orientation is a professional learning experience designed to get newly hired classroom teachers, Speech Language Pathologists, and School Counselors off to the Right Start in AACPS!

New Teacher Orientation is August 11, 12, 13, and 14, 2025. Additional professional learning opportunities are available on August 7, 2025.

Newly hired first year teachers who are not certified are invited to participate in Bootcamp on August 4, 5, 6 or 7.
