  Early Childhood Education

The Early Childhood Program in Anne Arundel County Public Schools blends the developmental needs of the unique young learner with the Maryland Content Standards.  Teachers follow the county curriculum for reading/language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies. Additionally, students receive instruction in physical education, health, art, music, and technology. Young children develop through predictable stages as learners.

Our staff is trained to observe students as they work and play in order to plan instruction which moves them comfortably to the next stage of learning. The child-centered environment is designed to help each student reach his or her learning potential. Most pre-kindergartens and kindergartens in Anne Arundel County are half day sessions.
