🎃 **Trunk or Treat at Van Bokkelen: A Spooktacular Success!** 🎃
Last night's Trunk or Treat event was an absolute blast! A huge shoutout to the Anne Arundel County Police Department and the Youth Activities Program for hosting another incredible year of fun and festivities.
Our Van Bokkelen staff had an amazing time mingling with the community, enjoying the creative car decorations, and soaking up the Halloween spirit. Even though we didn't snag the prize for the best-decorated car, we had a fang-tastic time! 🧛♂️🕸️
Thank you to everyone who came out and made the night unforgettable. Can't wait for next year! 🎉👻

Van Bokkelen Eagles just finished Day 3 of our 10-day attendance challenge. Today, our school-wide attendance was 93% and SIX of our classes had 100% attendance! Classes who have 100% attendance get to sign our PumpKING trophy! Students who attend every day of our 10-day challenge receive a prize.
Parents, please set good bedtime routines with your children and get them to school every day, on time. We miss them when they aren't here! We want to see every student tomorrow!

The Office of Community Schools recently supported a professional development initiative focused on Spanish language learning, featuring a two-week immersion course in Cusco, Peru. This program exemplifies the Community Schools' commitment to building relationships, supporting our students and families, and making AACPS a community where everyone can #BelongGrowSucceed.

The workgroup has been created to engage stakeholders in a robust conversation regarding school scheduling in Anne Arundel County Public Schools (AACPS) and to consider innovative school scheduling models for implementation in AACPS. It consists of AACPS staff, elected officials, and representatives from community organizations.
Meetings are open to the public and public feedback on innovative school scheduling in AACPS and the work of the workgroup is encouraged. Individuals will be able to provide comment in person or virtually at the end of each workgroup meeting. A total of five speakers will be permitted to speak for three minutes each. Written comment may also be submitted to Grace Wilson, Senior Legislative and Policy Specialist, at gawilson1@aacps.org.
