As a student in the Apex Arts Theatre Prime, I’m so grateful for the incredible program he has helped build. Apex Arts has given me a space to express my creativity while also teaching me the value of collaboration and responsibility. It’s encouraged me to step outside my comfort zone, grow as both an artist and a person, and connect with others who share my passion for the arts. Although Mr. Kauffman doesn’t directly teach me, his drive to create a safe and supportive space where every student can freely express their creativity is inspiring. “The Apex Arts program has allowed me to explore different acting techniques, helping me connect with myself and my peers on a deeper level.” -Zoe Dangerfield, Class of 2026 (Apex Arts/Annapolis HS)
Zoe just voted for the first time this week and instead of keeping that experience to herself, she used her voice to highlight other first-time voters. Check out her new Student Voice video here. “Voting gives us a say in what happens next and we’re ready to show up!”
Gloria spoke with Cynthia Bischoff, Family Involvement Senior Specialist and AACPS partner of the Kids Helping Kids campaign, about Harvest for the Hungry. She emphasized the value in student participation for a fundraiser like this, saying, “It gives the students of AACPS an opportunity to give back in their community and be part of a large project to help neighbors. We know that students need to be nourished in order to learn, and this campaign helps us provide food to families who are facing food insecurity.” Check out the full article here.

Hispanic Heritage Month Review with Zoe: Victor, with roots in Honduras and El Salvador, sees Hispanic heritage as a diverse tapestry. Will brings valuable leadership experience from his time with student government organizations like CRASC, where he learned how student voice can shape meaningful change.
