2 Days Until School Begins #BelongGrowSucceed - girl with 2 thumbs up
Greetings SRMS Sharks, It is hard to believe that summer is coming to an end, but next week is the official start of the school year! Welcome to a new school year filled with opportunities to learn and grow! Let’s work together to make the most of the school year by helping students to show up and participate every day possible. As a reminder, the 6TH GRADE students’ first day of school is on Monday, August 26th and the first official day of school for ALL students is Tuesday, August 27th. Additionally, our school day starts promptly at 9:15 am - the doors open at 9:05 am for any student that would like to eat breakfast. Getting back into the habit of daily attendance matters more than ever this school year. As a school, we are focused on supporting our families and students with attending school every day. If there is anything that we can do to help make sure that your student is making it to school, please let us know. Every minute counts! We are looking forward to another great year at Severn River Middle School!

As we anticipate the first day of school next week, it is important to note that AACPS has updated their policy in the Student Handbook. Cell phones, earbuds, and all electronic devices are to be OFF and AWAY during the school day, which includes lunch and hallway transitions. There is no exception to this COUNTY-WIDE rule. All cell phone violations will be reported to Administration and will follow progressive discipline according to the AACPS Student Code of Conduct. Please help us ensure the success of this new COUNTY-WIDE initiative by calling the main office to relay a message to your student rather than sending a message to their device. If you have any questions, please call the main office or email your students administrator. Thank you for your cooperation. We look forward to seeing 6th graders on Monday, 8/26 and ALL students on Tuesday, 8/27.
