The number of Anne Arundel County Public Schools to earn five stars on the Maryland Report Card rose 36 percent in the 2024-25 school year compared to the previous year, with an AACPS record 15 schools now holding the state’s highest rating, according to data released by the Maryland State Department of Education today.

Fall parent teacher conferences will be held on Monday, November 24th and Tuesday, November 25th. Conferences on the 24th will be held in-person and conferences on the 25th will be virtual. The dates and times of your child’s conference will be sent out via your child’s backpack on Monday, 11/03/2025. Please email your classroom teacher to confirm your appointment.
The Board of Education of Anne Arundel County will have further discussions about the six Phase 2 redistricting proposals currently under consideration at its next regular business meeting, scheduled for noon on Wednesday, November 5, 2025.
At the meeting, the Board will also:
• consider approval of a new middle school course – Integrated Computational Thinking – and three new high school courses – Forensic Science 2, Advanced Placement Cybersecurity, and Advanced Placement Business Education With Personal Finance.
• conduct the first of three readings on revisions to the Policy IIC, Graduation Requirements and the accompanying regulation. The revisions would reduce the number of credits needed for graduation from 26 to 22.5, still higher than the state minimum, by requiring fewer elective credits.
