3:00 p.m., 2/3/26: Barring any additional inclement weather overnight that would impact school operations, all Anne Arundel County Public Schools and offices will open on time and will operate on normal schedules for students and staff on Wednesday, February 4.

There will still be areas of the county where adverse road and sidewalk conditions exist tomorrow morning, so families and employees are urged to continue to exercise caution and patience, including as it relates to decisions about student drivers. Families of students who normally walk to school should once again closely examine walking routes and, if prudent and possible, consider transporting their students to and from school.

Thank you.

Hello GBPE Families!

I apologize as I was misinformed. The sidewalk to the pool parking lot has NOT been shoveled and is very icy. It is recommended that students avoid this route.

Families, Welcome back from our snow and virtual days. Our goal is to get everyone in safely, so please be extra cautious tomorrow. Sidewalks are cleared as best as they can be. The parking lots are as well. However, curbs still have snow build up from plowing. We will have extra staff outside to support students as they come in. The GBP Pool parking lot is NOT plowed. I know many families use it for walkers and drop off. We did shovel the walk from it to school, but I don't want anyone getting stuck in the icy lot. Many neighbors shoveled their sidewalks, but not all. I am hopeful that students do not need to walk in the street and have a safe space to wait for buses. The roads in GBP are VERY narrow with basically one way passage. Please use extra care as it will take longer with buses in the road. We will have indoor recess as staff will need to park on the blacktop. We will monitor for cha he's on Tuesday. Thank you in advance for your understanding. Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns. Mrs. McFarland

4:00 p.m., 1/31/26: Out of an abundance of caution and in order to allow additional time for student and staff travel, all Anne Arundel County Public Schools will open two hours late on Monday, Feb. 2, and Tuesday, Feb. 3. There will be no morning half-day ECSE sessions, no morning sessions at the Centers of Applied Technology, and no transportation to JROTC programs.

Families of students who normally walk to school should closely examine walking routes prior to Monday and strongly consider transporting their students to and from school. Some adverse road and sidewalk conditions will also still exist on Monday and Tuesday, so families and staff are urged to exercise caution and patience, including as it relates to decisions about student drivers.

Hello GBPE Families!

Thank you so much for your patience and support for today's virtual learning! We know there were some issues with the platform, but many students were able to get on their Google Meets and participate in learning.

We will try this again tomorrow! As a reminder, Google Meet links will be posted on Canvas and sent out via text/email around 8:55 am.

Thank you again! We couldn't have done this without you! Stay safe, and stay warm!

12:15 p,.m, 1/28/26: Due to continuing adverse weather and travel conditions, including ongoing work at school sites, impassable side streets and inaccessible bus stops in some areas, all AACPS schools will operate virtually on Thursday, January 29, and Friday, January 30. Students will engage in real-time virtual instruction with their teachers. Schools will begin instruction at 9 or 9:15 a.m., as listed on schedules that can be found at www.aacps.org/studentschedules or www.aacps.org/stayconnected.

The closing of schools on Tuesday, January 27, and Wednesday, January 28, utilizes the second and third of three inclement weather days built into the 2025-26 school year calendar. Under state law, AACPS may choose to move to virtual learning on future inclement weather days. No decisions have been made for school district operations beyond Wednesday, January 28. If additional days are needed and virtual learning is not utilized, those days would be added to the end of the calendar.
