Dear Central Families, We are blown away by the tremendous support and excitement over our upcoming Fall Fest! Unfortunately, the weather conditions are not looking favorable for a successful, outdoor event on Friday. Thankfully, our pre-arranged rain date of Saturday, September 28 from 5-8pm looks more promising! If you have already purchased tickets and are able to come to the event on Saturday, there is nothing you need to do. Simply, check in at the registration table and enjoy the event! If you have purchased tickets and are now UNABLE to attend on Saturday, there are a few options for you: Fill out the Fall Fest Voucher Request Form to receive a Greenstreet Gardens Fall Fest voucher to be used at a date of your choosing during their normal operating hours. No additional cost will be charged. Donate your purchases back to Central Elementary PTO. (This option will be applied unless you fill out the Voucher Request Form, above.) If you would like to purchase tickets to our event on Saturday, September 28th, please follow the steps below: Come to Greenstreet Gardens (391 W. Bay Front Road, Lothian, MD 20711) and proceed to the PTO’s “Need Tickets?” Registration Line where you will purchase tickets. We are happy to honor the “pre-order” rate of $13/person. We are in extreme need of some helping hands due to our date change. Please consider volunteering a portion of your evening to help our concession table run smoothly. Sign up here ! Please direct any questions you may have regarding Fall Fest tickets to centrales.pto@gmail.com . Sincerely, CES PTO

Hispanic Heritage Month
🎉 Celebrating #HispanicHeritageMonth ! Hispanic Heritage Month began as a week-long observance in June 1968, introduced by Congressman George E. Brown and approved by President Lyndon B. Johnson on September 17, 1968. In 1988, a bill championed by Senator Paul Simon and U.S. Representative Esteban E. Torres extended the celebration to a full 31 days. President Ronald Reagan signed this extension into law on August 17, 1988. On September 14, 1989, President George H.W. Bush officially declared the period from September 15 to October 15 as National Hispanic Heritage Month. This timeframe honors the independence days of several Latin American countries: Mexico (September 16, 1810), Chile (September 18, 1810), Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua (September 15, 1821), and Belize (September 21, 1981). #CelebrateDiversity #AACPSCelebrates
