Today, we started a SchoolStore program to help our school raise money. Scan the QR code on the Book Buddy Lanyard that was sent home with your student to find out how the program works. Parents, please read over the information describing how you can participate. Your student will earn a participation prize when they return the filled-out Student Lanyard to school, and they can earn more great prizes when your family and friends help our school raise money. So don't forget to send the filled-out Book Buddy Lanyard back to school, and thanks for your support.

Dear Brooklyn Park Families,

What an incredible response we've had so far! We are so excited about the amazing turnout for our instrumental music programs. It’s wonderful to see so many of our 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders eager to learn an instrument. If your 3rd, 4th, or 5th grader is even a little bit interested in joining the band or strings program, it’s not too late to submit a registration form and sign your student up for in-school, no-cost band/strings lessons!
***Nearly 50% of all 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students have already signed up! This is an amazing turnout!
***School trumpets, trombones, and percussion are in short supply. All other instruments are still available to borrow! (Disregard if signed up before this message, or renting from a music store)

The sign-up window closes on Monday, September 7th! Sign up here! (disponible en español)

https://forms.gle/ELBGsYWmXTa8umDm8

***For second and third year musician families, please complete the registration form to officially sign back up!

All of the details and the sign-up form can be found on our website:

https://sites.google.com/aacps.org/bpes-band-and-strings-website/home

Lessons will begin the week of September 14th, so don't miss out on the chance for your student to be a part of the band or strings!

If you have any questions, please reach out to Mr. Franck (Band & Strings)

Thank you for your support, we can't wait to get our musical year started!

Campus Conversations at Brooklyn Park Elementary
September 28, 2026 | 7:40 a.m.

This month, we’re excited to welcome our partners from Safe Routes to School!

Safe Routes to School is a nationwide movement focused on making it safe, convenient, and joyful for students to walk, bike, and roll to school. Research has shown that walking and rolling to school can increase students’ daily physical activity, improve concentration in the classroom, reduce traffic congestion, and help build stronger social connections.

During our Campus Conversation, families will learn more about Anne Arundel Safe Routes to School (AASRTS), share their ideas, and help us explore what Safe Routes to School could look like right here at Brooklyn Park Elementary.

Join us for breakfast, coffee, and conversation as we work together to make getting to school safer and better for our students.

Families who attend will be entered into a raffle for special giveaways!

Dear Brooklyn Park Families,

We are excited to announce that registration for our Instrumental Music (Strings/Band) lesson program is now open! This no-cost, during-school program offers a wonderful opportunity for students to explore their musical interests and develop new skills by learning to play a musical instrument during the school day. All students are welcome and encouraged to participate! String Orchestra lessons are available to 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders, and Band lessons are available to 4th and 5th graders. All students in 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade attended the instrumental music program presentation(s) this week and had the chance to listen to a demonstration of the instruments available to them.

Additional information and the online sign-up form can be found in the letter sent home this week, or on the instrumental music registration website, both linked below:

Anne Arundel County Public Schools has a free mobile app that makes staying informed easier than ever before. In the 2026-27 school year, routine announcements about school system events and operations will be disseminated primarily through the mobile app, the news section of the AACPS website, and through messaging to families (not through social media). Emergency notifications will continue to be featured in the alerts banner at the top off the AACPS website on social media pages. To ensure receipt of the latest updates and information, families should download the app and follow their student's school(s).Download the app in the App Store or on Google Play today!
