The Board of Education of Anne Arundel County is set to vote on revisions to its grading policy that would allow the school district to provide class rank to certain high school students at its next meeting, scheduled for 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 22, 2026.
At the meeting, the Board will also:
• receive the recommendation of the Calendar Committee on the calendar for the 2027-28 school year. A Board vote on that calendar is scheduled for the Board’s May 6, 2026, meeting. The Board approved the 2026-27 school year calendar earlier this year.
• get a summary of education-related legislation considered during the recently concluded Maryland General Assembly session and the impact of that legislation on the school district.
• recognize 2026 National Merit Scholarship finalists.

We are committed to fortifying the school-home relationship and creating a welcoming community for our families. One of the best ways to stay connected is to see your student’s world in action! 🐲
✨ We encourage parents to come and have lunch with their students! ✨ Bring their favorite lunch to enjoy!
Sharing a meal is a wonderful way to engage with the school environment and support your child's daily journey. We love seeing our AMS families in the cafeteria!

Watching our AMS 8th grade Advanced students speak up, advocate, and explore how they can make a real impact in their community was nothing short of inspiring
Seeing the SREIL-ALPs curriculum come alive at Annapolis Middle School through meaningful, student-driven experiences was powerful. Your passion was evident in every detail, and it was inspiring to see our social justice partners show up in full support of our students.
A HUGE thank you to our community partners for donating their time, sharing their expertise, and investing in our students’ growth—you made this experience even more impactful!
A huge thank you to Ms. Rippeon and Ms. Allen for their continued dedication to creating opportunities where students truly BELONG, GROW, SUCCEED. https://www.instagram.com/annapmsaacps/reel/DXKIym8Dvu9/
