AACPS Website Accessibility Statement

  • Anne Arundel County Public Schools strives to ensure the information on our website be accessible to everyone including individuals with visual, hearing or cognitive disabilities.

This site is designed to be accessible to users with differing needs. Web accessibility ensures access to the web for everyone, regardless of disability. Visual, auditory, physical, speech, cognitive, and neurological disabilities can all affect access to the web. Significant efforts have been made to ensure that our site complies with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0 level AA, set forth by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C).

The majority of pages in our site are composted  in HTML format, which can be deciphered by screen readers. Some documents are in Adobe PDF format, which requires Adobe Acrobat Reader to view. If you do not already have Adobe Acrobat Reader on your computer, you can download it for free from the Adobe website at https://get.adobe.com/reader.

As part AACPS's commitment to Accessibility, we conduct regular reviews of the content on our site, have adopted a Regulatory Maintenanace package which provides a full quality assurance review to maintain web content continuity with browsers, update for accessibility, and enhance web security. This review, as well as our continual emphasis on accessibility through hands-on training for content contributors, helps to ensure our websites are optimized to provide users with an accessible experience by conforming to WCAG 2.0 Level AA guidelines. If you are creating an AACPS Google site, please ensure the site(s) is accessible by utilizing this checklist.

Please note that some linked pages on AACPS websites contain links to third-party sites, which are not within our control and may not comply with accessibility standards. The district is not responsible for the content or accessibility of third-party sites.
