Stacy Korbelak

Stacy Korbelak is an appointed member representing District 21 on the Board of Education of Anne Arundel County since July 2012.

Mrs. Korbelak holds a bachelor’s degree in Organizational Behavior from the University of Michigan and a master’s degree in Administration from the Johns Hopkins University.  She is currently an Associate Professor of English composition and literature at Howard Community College in Columbia, where she also serves as the faculty president and the program director of one of the college's honors programs. Prior to joining HCC, she spent more than 15 years in human resources and employee/labor relations with both the federal government and private sector.

Stacy and her husband, Matthew, have been residents of the Piney Orchard community in Odenton since 1996. She was an active volunteer in the schools her children attended, serving as vice president of PTA at Piney Orchard Elementary School, president of PTA at Arundel Middle School and a member of the Integrated Community Stakeholders Team at Arundel High School.  She also serves on boards of the Maryland Association of Boards of Education (MABE) and the Two Year College English Association (TYCA) - Northeast Region.

All four of her children are graduates of Anne Arundel County Public Schools.  Her son Benjamin is currently a math teacher at Annapolis High School.
