Colin Reinhard

Colin Reinhard

Colin Reinhard was appointed to an at-large seat on the Board of Education by the School Board Appointment Commission of Anne Arundel County on August 24, 2017, and assumed his seat on September 1, 2017.

Mr. Reinhard graduated summa cum laude from the University of Pittsburgh with a bachelor of science in civil and environmental engineering. He went on to earn a master’s degree in teaching from the Johns Hopkins University.

Mr. Reinhard currently is the owner of Paradise Donuts of Linthicum, and donates a portion of sales to local school music and arts programs.

Prior to becoming a small business owner, he spent 13 years in education as a high school mathematics classroom teacher, department chair, and curriculum and instructional specialist with Montgomery County Public Schools and Anne Arundel County Public Schools. His honors include being recognized as the 2007 outstanding mathematics teacher by the Maryland Council of Teachers of Mathematics and four-time most influential teacher as selected by graduating seniors at Paint Branch High School.

A resident of Anne Arundel County since 2004, Mr. Reinhard values the importance of serving the community in which he lives. Living in north county has provided many opportunities to coach and volunteer with youth sports, as well as to provide a safe, family-centered atmosphere in his family's bakery.

Mr. Reinhard's goal is to ensure opportunities for all students in all schools to find their passion and realize their potential. It is this fundamental belief that all students are capable of success when given the appropriate environment to grow that brought Mr. Reinhard to a career in education and ultimately sparked his interest in a seat on the Board.

Mr. Reinhard and his wife, Melissa, live in Linthicum with their two children, Cameron and Claire. When not in schools or on the job, you can find the Reinhards losing their voices at swim meets or by the soccer pitch.
