Lindale MS Student Wins Scholastic Tech4Innovation contest
Samantha Leonard, a 7th-grade STEM student at Lindale Middle School, was selected as the winner of the Scholastic Tech4Innovation contest. The students were tasked with identifying a problem in their community and then designing a tech solution. Samantha's entry was a design for a steering wheel that monitored the driver's heart rate. In case of an emergency, the car would have emergency measures activated. Mr. Hall, Samantha's Computer Science teacher, submitted over sixty entries from Lindale to challenge thousands of other entries nationwide. She earned a new laptop and a $250 gift card! She also earned a $1,000 grant for Mr. Hall’s classroom through Scholastic!
