Learn & Practice Your Spanish while Volunteering in Peru
We have an amazing summer 2020 opportunity for your consideration. We have planned a “Learn & Practice Your Spanish while Volunteering in Peru” four-week experience for two groups of approximately twenty to thirty AACPS educators. Travel to Cusco, Peru - the city known as the archeological capital of the Americas. Volunteer as a teacher or in another capacity of your choice for approximately 5 hours/day during the Monday through Friday work week; your weekends are free for you to travel and explore Peru as you wish. Receive ten hours per week of small group Spanish lessons contextualized to your volunteer experience or contextualized to teaching and learning in general.
Many AACPS educators have told us how they would love to be immersed in the Spanish language in order to increase their Spanish speaking capabilities. This summer you have the chance to do just that. For approximately $1900 you can experience total language and cultural immersion in Cusco, Peru. This cost includes: a safe and clean place to stay as a group for four weeks, breakfast and lunch (main meal of the day) daily, Spanish lessons, round trip air travel, travel medical insurance, volunteer experience, AACPS trip leader available for support, and an opportunity to earn 2.0 APC credits. Dates are June 29-July 26 (Group 1) or July 13-August 9 (Group 2). NOTE: Our AACPS group leader will be in Peru approximately from July 13 – Aug 9. If you who would like to have AACPS support from the moment you land in-country, you may wish to sign up for the Group 2 adventure.
