Deadline Approaching - Grants 4 Teachers Applications

Just a friendly reminder that the Community Foundation’s Grants 4 Teachers deadline for applications is Sunday, September 29.  It has been my experience that they do not extend the deadline, so you should plan to submit applications no later than Friday, September 27

Please see below for all of the details and the link to the application website.

Grants 4 Teachers funds highly creative ideas that otherwise would be impossible to implement in the classroom. This program helps fund teachers' creative ideas to stimulate and inspire our students’ learning. Grants are awarded from a minimum of $100 to a maximum of $500. A volunteer committee of citizens including school system representatives, retired teachers, business people and parents review the applications.

Teachers will apply through the online grant application portal. Follow link to CFAAC website. Click on the "View Grants Opportunities" - create a new account or to login to your existing account. Once logged in, you will see "Grants 4 Teachers" as an available grant application. The application process is easy and the grant is awarded directly to the school on behalf of a teacher. Applications are due on September 29, 2019. Grant decisions will be announced by 10/28/19. Projects should not be scheduled to begin before 11/4/19.

All teachers working for Anne Arundel County Public Schools may apply.  Please note: Projects that appear to have already begun or that have been fully funded elsewhere will not be accepted.  Partial funding may be requested if you can provide documentation of having the remaining balance committed from another source (PTA, local business, etc.).

Please note the following:

  • Requests to purchase technology (tablets, touchpads, etc.) will not be considered
  • Requests for the purchase of assistive technology for an individual student will not be considered
  • Requests to purchase alternative classroom furnishings, pre-packaged curriculum or software will only be considered if you can describe a creative way in which you will use them to enhance your students' classroom experience

If your request is funded, a brief narrative and spending report, with receipts attached, will be required at the conclusion of the project, program or school year (whichever comes first).  You are also encouraged to submit photos and testimonials that can be used to promote the program.  If you submit photos, please ensure that you have any necessary release from parents to utilize them or do not include identifying pictures of students.

Please keep in mind that many teachers and schools are eligible to apply, so not all creative and exciting projects can be funded. Contact the Community Foundation office at or 410-280-1102 if you have any further questions.
