About Our School

  • Ruth Parker Eason is a public, separate day school located in Millersville, Maryland in Anne Arundel County.

Our school provides a special education program for students ages 3 through 21 with moderate to severe disabilities. Our students each bring their own unique talents and challenges, and our educational program is differentiated and highly individualized to ensure that each student is able to reach their maximum potential and level of independence. Students' Individualized Education Programs focus on the development of functional life skills and functional academics.

Our teachers modify the Common Core State Standards for Language Arts and Math and the Next Generation Science Standards for science instruction. Students participate in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) activities that are modified to ensure their success. Students are also provided instruction in social studies, art, music, physical education, and media. Communication and positive behavior interventions are also integral components of each student's instructional program. In addition, vocational training occurs within our building and at work enclaves in the community for our older students.
