Dear Southgate Community,

My name is Kirk Greubel and I am excited to be returning to Southgate Elementary.  I am very enthusiastic about the coming year as we will continue to build on the work that has been done in the past years. Specifically, we will continue to grow and deepen our academic program in terms of both curriculum and instruction as an IB World School. We aim “to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect.” Our educators build positive relationships with students and families, hold high expectations for all students and maintain a safe and supporting learning environment.

Our school team continues to grow. Did you know we have 32 classroom teachers, supported by 10 Resource teachers, 10 Cultural Arts teachers, and the best secretarial and custodial staff educating over 700 students? That’s why we need you! I strongly encourage each of you to join our PTA. Our goal will be to match your skills to our school’s needs as well as be creative about the ways we can get parents involved in new ways to support student learning.

I am truly overjoyed to lead and participate in such a fantastic school. Together, we will do incredible things for student learning. We are educating our future! Let’s Go, Tigers!
