Corkran Middle School in collaboration with families and the community, promotes a positive academic environment where all students are celebrated and supported as they meet and exceed high academic standards to prepare them to become responsible citizens in a constantly transforming society.

A Brief History

Since its opening in 1962, Corkran Middle School has provided quality education to residents of Glen Burnie and surrounding areas.  Corkran is a proud part of the Anne Arundel County Public School system, which is the 5th largest school system in Maryland.  We have great partners in our elementary feeder system: George Cromwell, Oakwood, Richard Henry Lee, and Woodside.  Corkran students naturally matriculate to Glen Burnie High School and Old Mill High School, or to magnet programs at other county high schools.
