About Our School
Located in Edgewater, Maryland, CMS is the only middle school in the South River Cluster. Opened in 1977, the two-story building houses a population of approximately 1,300 students in grades 6 through 8, and serves the communities of Davidsonville, Edgewater, Mayo, Riva and Woodland Beach, as well as parts of Annapolis and Harwood, in southern Anne Arundel County.
Central Middle School is proud of its academic program. The school consistently has achieved adequate yearly progress on the Maryland State Assessments. The number of students achieving at advanced levels increases yearly.
In addition to being academically successful, Central Middle School is also a very safe and orderly environment. Central Middle School's students are: Caring and respectful, Motivated and Safe.
