Career and Technology Education (CTE) provides benefits beyond the diploma. CTE programs offer students an opportunity to get a head start on their career, as well as, post-secondary education. Students can earn industry certifications and transcripted college credit while completing high school graduation requirements.
High school is the perfect time to explore career interests, and with 40 different completer programs AACPS has something for everyone. Our state-approved programs of study are designed to prepare students for the 21st century global economy and its rapidly changing workforce needs.
The CTE Office provides leadership, support, and resources for all courses and programs in the areas of Applied Technology, Business Education, Computer Science, Family and Consumer Sciences, and Technology Education. Our courses are designed to provide challenging opportunities for students to develop knowledge and skills in a career field. Students may use this acquired knowledge for entry-level employment and/or further education at a college, technical or business school, or an apprenticeship program. The courses are offered at the high schools and at Center of Applied Technology North & Center of Applied Technology South.
