Business Education prepares students to succeed in college and the workforce! In today’s rapidly growing and changing economy, students will learn the skills to cope not only with the complexities of the business world but the practical necessities of saving and investing, handling consumer and credit issues, and operating a business.

The business education curriculum prepares students for life after high school graduation. It provides two educational options in one - College Prep and Career Prep.

    • Business programs include academic subjects needed to meet the entrance requirements of two and four year colleges and universities
    • Completer programs provide the opportunity to earn industry certification and/or articulated credit for post-secondary education.
    • Business courses teach skills that meet entry-level job requirements

Business courses are increasingly popular with students.  In fact, many high school Signature Programs have incorporated business skills, tools, and elements into their exploration and survey courses.  Some high schools, such as Severna Park High, have focused more heavily on the incorporation of business elements across the curriculum as their Signature is Business, Innovation & Leadership. Others have woven the much coveted professional soft skills and knowledge into targeted classes with the help of their Signature Program business and industry partners.
