THE WORK OF OUR STRATEGIC PLAN 2018-2023

Overlook Elementary School

  • When each school began to plan their important work based on AACPS’s 2018-2023 Strategic Plan during the spring of 2018, school teams reflected on their school culture, their community, and the key factors contributing to student achievement.  Each school was then asked to consider which Strategic Plan Indicators would have the greatest positive impact for their students. School leadership teams selected indicators and developed plans to focus and guide their efforts.  Please come with us on our journey as we describe why, what, and how we do our work to serve our students and families of our school.

Overlook Elementary's School Story

  • Overlook Elementary is a community school located in Linthicum, MD and home to 384 students who look forward to coming to school every day to an exciting and safe environment where the school’s teachers and staff care about them and engage them at high levels. Overlook Elementary has impacted generations of Linthicum families and plays an important role in the community.

On any given day, the main office of Overlook is bustling with visitors who call or walk up to the school with a wide variety of amazing stories, special requests, questions, concerns, and unique needs.  Families join the Overlook Elementary family after moving into the area to register their children and grandchildren, many who need the assistance of a bilingual facilitator or interpreter.  They are welcomed and embraced by school staff from their first day inside Overlook’s doors.  Moreover, community partners and volunteers also donate their time and resources in support of the students and families of the Overlook school community.
